We went together, so long ago,
us two, to this place,
I remember.
I'll always have the memories.
When last we came,
it was much different.
Much different than it is now,
between us.
Not worse,
not better,
just different.
Though returning here makes me remember.
It makes me miss us,
it makes me miss love.
Here with you again,
laughing, enjoying, solemnly observing,
I keep my heart from coming out my throat.
I would never break our silence,
though silence seems too harsh a word,
to describe the connection we share.
What we have is special,
what we had was love,
and I'll never forget either.
You touched my hand,
and my
The Mourning Mountains
A work of fiction by Stephen Pownall

The trees stood; not straight, but bent into the wind to receive its blows softly. The branches stretched out to the cloudy sky, their bark gray like the flesh of a frozen corpse. They did not sway, but the wind hummed a sorrowful song as it passed through their branches. The song echoed through the mountains, as if the very rocks cried out in sorrow for the loss of a loved one. Thanks to the constancy of the wind, this song played always, filling the heart with tension, making even some of the more stalwart of men uncomfortable. The barren landscape, almost dev

So waiting is a stupid thing
But in the end, we have everything
They say patience is a virtue
And promises are key
But who's to say we can believe
Don't tell me it's just me
Somedays it's the fear that eats away
But you'll fight it
Won't you?
Cause we're waiting to live
Living to die
Dying to love
And loving to lie
To stand up in arms
And give risk a try
I'm waiting to see
If you do or die
So the rainstorm soothes the savage mind
But in the end, all we have is time
They say love is patient
And justice is blind
But I'm waiting inside
For your eyes to come alive
Somedays it's the trust that fades away
But you'll still b
The radiant sun
Burning hot on me
Lighting the way
Through you, I see
Even through night
Your light still shines
Brighter than any moon
Or stars I can find
Not nearly so perfect
Not nearly so bright
Not nearly what I imagined
But you make it seem right
Not nearly so perfect
But what matters is what I see
Til the ends of eternity
Will you be there for me?
Black moonless night
In darkness I find
The one shining star
The clouds leave behind
Brighter it shines
Against the black screen
If I find you
Will you find me?
Not nearly so perfect
Not nearly so shy
Not nearly the one
To ever make one cry
Not nearly so bright
As
You travel by the night
Excuses at your tow
Saying "Shadows can't stand the daylight"
But the truth we'll never know
Though ideas of love intrigue you
You'll forget it at the door
Just let the stage light steal you
It's what you've waited for
So you leave your world behind
And I'll take from you what's mine
Leave you standing in my doorway
You'll understand why
You can't see the red lights
Cause they're only in my district
You just see the corset
And fish nets never were your thing
To the world I look ridiculous
But to you I look just fine
So do you dare to take the jump
Into this life of mine?
Cause somedays, being heartl

Bioshock comes out in a scant 47 hours 45 minutes, and I can't wait. Clutching my comforting pre-order receipt to my chest, I wait for its coming by destroying the pigs of GDI with my Nod brethren. The technology of peace! Kane lives in death! I'm gonna have to do a Command and Conquer fanfic soon.
All that aside, its left me very little time to write. I'll do as much as I can to finish things off before I vanish for another week under the sea. Ciao.
Never thought I would, but I found my perfect avatar. Go see it if you havent already. Also, expect the last part of the City of Villains fic soon.
Well, I'm back from my Deviant Vacation. Thanks to pressure from the good people who've read my work and love it, I'm back and ready for the summer season. Plenty of free time to do a little writing. Expect a nicely filled out gallery soon.
Also, Transformers? Greatest movie to grace this earth. If you haven't seen it, ninjas are already killing you as you sleep.
